Diona Doherty’s comedy plays sweep the UK & Ireland

Following the huge success of Bridesmaids of Northern Ireland, which sold out 8 nights at the Belfast Grand Opera House and thousands of tickets across the country, the play has now been adapted and will come to our shores this summer for the ultimate Girls Night Out.

Bridesmaids of Britain is for anyone who’s been married, know’s someone married or has heard of a wedding day! Over 50+ dates will tour theatres in England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland, between June-September and is to be promoted by Robert C Kelly and GBL Productions https://robertckelly.co.uk/shows/bridesmaids-of-britain-2023-uk-tour/

Of Bridesmaids of Britain Diona says “To sell out so many shoes in N.I with my debut comedy play has been a dream come true and now that it’s playing to audiences all over the UK and Ireland seems surreal. This show is a celebration of female friendship, [so seeing the buzz from groups of women leaving the theatre each night was such a high and] I am so honoured to provide them with their well earnt night out!”

Additionally to the success of the first play, and due huge demand and popularity of the character Becky (played by Diona) she has written a sequel, The Hen Do, which will be touring Northern Ireland this autumn with another weeks run at the GOH on the main stage.
Diona says “The Hen Do is my love note to mothers everywhere who have given up so much of themselves to raise their children as best they know how. I hope The Hen Do gives groups of pals another brilliant reason to finally get that night out in the diary and I hope everyone laugh’s until they pee. I know I will. (just had a baby so it’s not that unlikely)”
